Filipina creative spreads her butterfly wings in international shoe design competition

GLOBAL - MILAN, MARCH 2012: Former TBWA Santiago Mangada Puno creative Lady San Pedro has been making waves at global shoe design competition in Barcelona, Cinderthriller.

Italian footwear manufacturing company Alberto Guardiani and influential British fashion and culture magazine published by Terry Jones, i-D launched the contest in September 2011 at the Milan Fashion Week in search for the new "It Shoe."
Among 800 shoe designs from 50 countries, San Pedro's winning piece Flutterby Shoe blossomed as the winning piece. The design captured an unconventional sense of femininity reflecting the 28-year old creative's philosophy in life: spontaneity, and being able to ‘wing it’, can only come from a woman of intelligence and experience."

The panel of judges was headed by Terry Jones and by Rubina Guardiani, daughter of the company founder – also included Anna dello Russo, creative consultant and fashionista; Georgina Goodman, prominent shoe designer; Sarah, owner of Colette, the famous Parisian concept store; and Andrew Keith, president of Lane Crawford, Hong Kong’s premium department store.

The competition was open to all designers and shoe lovers and had complete online coverage through albertoguardiani.com and i-donline.com as well as on the brand’s and the mag’s social network pages.
San Pedro's design along with the other two finalists were featured at a special event held February 24 during the Milan Fashion Week at the stunning 10 Corso Como. The occasion celebrated the world premiere of the new It-Shoe, all set to become part of the Alberto Guardiani FW 12 collection and hit the retail market at 10 Corso Como and at Colette in Paris.
